About 3 weeks ago Aubrey began her strange fascination with wet wipes. She thinks they are cute little blankets. Every time I would put Aubrey on the changing table she would immediately grab a wet wipe.
Then she would lie down, spread it out on her belly and say "Ni Ni"
After her diaper was changed she would carry that wet wipe with her all throughout the house. She would find stuffed animals to lay it on. Or she would merely spread it out nicely on the floor, make sure it was perfectly straight and then pick it up and start over. We now find dry wet wipes all over the house. Many nights she even wants to sleep with one. Who knows what is in the heads of these little toddlers.
Washcloths
In most homes washcloths in tubs are used for cleaning oneself. But, to Aubrey a washcloth is a blanket for her baby. Santa brought Aubrey a Strawberry shortcake doll that came with a tub and a swimsuit. She is now Aubrey's favorite tubby time toy. That and the washcloth of course.
First, Aubrey will spread out the wash cloth nice and straight on the side of the tub.
Then she sings her doll a song and gives her a hug and a kiss and lays her on the washcloth.
Then she swaddles the doll and says "Ni Ni."
Then the whole process starts all over again. She has spent several 30 min. tubby times doing this the entire time. It's really quite cute. She's being a little Mommy. If only she would spend as much time with her doll that actually came with a bassinet, blanket, diaper bag with food and bottle, car seat & stroller. Somehow it is not quite as fun as a little doll and a washcloth!

Aubrey is so darn cute! You are such a good mom. I love reading your blog and hearing all the stuff that you guys are up to. We don't see you hardly ever (if ever) so its so fun to keep in touch this way.
Take advantage of the Wipe-ee fascination! My kids liked them too and they were perfect entertainer in the store or a quiet toy at church. Just hand her one and tell her to clean stuff, or cover, or anything else she can imagine, fold, pull (they're amazingly stretchy) I love wipe-ees!
So you had someone take the bunnies to an animal shelter? We are wondering what to do, because there's like at least 5 more and we know who they belong to, but they came an ate our newly planted pansys in the fall and Jon is worried about the new blossoms in the spring. We haven't decided how to handle the situation. I'll have to tell Jon about the shelter.
Reading about Aubrey's adventures reminds me so much of when my kids were little! However, I was too cheap - the Buell in me - to let them all play with the wet wipes whenever they took a fancy for it, I used too many of them myself! I do wish that I could have figured out what things they would have found entertaining and got the most enjoyment from and it would have saved me a lot of time, effort and money!
Leave it to Jeff to figure out how to catch the bunnies! He's pretty dang smart. Don would have preferred an alternative method! (smile) We used to have a couple of rabbits when we were growing up in Fielding. One was huge, his name was Alvin - named after this huge kid at school. Wonder if Jeff remembers that? Hmm . . . I would have thought he would have slapped together a cute little bunny hutch and just decided to keep them!
