Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

Our neighborhood has an annual Easter Egg Hunt. Anyone on our street, who wants to participate, hides eggs in their front yard. The kids go up and down the street hunting for eggs. Then we all meet together for a potluck. It's a cute idea. We've gone to the potluck several times, but this is the first year that we have done the hunt. (We planned on it last year, but little Brookie decided to come early and we were bringing her home from the hospital during the hunt.)

Both girls had a fun time, even though it was a bit chilly. I am glad we went because we were planning on having our own hunt in the backyard the next day, but we awoke to a yard full of snow. We had to bring ours indoors and it's just not the same.

Here's the girls waiting for the hunt to begin. Aubrey was very excited!

And the hunt begins.

Here's Brooke learning to put the egg in her bucket. This is a new skill for her, because generally she likes taking things out.

Getting an egg way up high.

Ohhh, look at all of these eggs!

And the part Aubrey was waiting for . . . eating the chocolate inside.

Playing with the eggs at home.

I wasn't planning on letting Brooke have chocolate until her first birthday. Well, she had other ideas. She either got into an egg herself, or Aubrey dropped a piece of her chocolate. She looked too cute smiling from ear to ear while chocolate dribbled from her chin!

Holidays are so much fun with little munchkins!
