Who knew . . .

. . . that a couple of grasshoppers could provide us with so much fun! (And who knew that I could take and post so many pictures of it. Well actually probably everyone, I am pretty predictable when it comes to the massive amounts of photos I take.)

Daddy found a couple of grasshoppers while mowing the lawn last Saturday, and boy did the girls have a ball with them. Brooke was screaming "bug" at the top of her lungs for quite a while. They both were chasing them around touching their backs and watching them jump. Brooke actually picked one up and held it in her fingers for a few moments.

Here's our larger one. We called her the "Mommy One."


Here's our smaller one that we called the "baby one." This was the one that Brooke was most interested in as soon as we named her baby.


It's just like a wind up toy, you press their backs and they jump!

I kept trying to get one in flight, but this is the best I got.


Daddy came and helped them get up close and personal with our "Mommy" grasshopper.




"It's tickling me" Aubrey said.


Finally Aubrey held still long enough to get the grasshopper on her and crawling around. She was thrilled!








Brooke finally got bored of our new friend and started practicing her new walking moves.
