Our trip to Canada Part 1

We had a real fun visit with Jeff's family in Canada. We left on April 23rd on our 21 hour road trip. I thought it was going to be crazy and full of lots of fussing and crying. The girls completely surprised us by being perfect little angels the whole trip. I brought lots of stuff to entertain them and we took lots of stops. I don't think Aubrey fussed even once on either the way up or way back. Brooke cried a tiny bit when she was tired. But all I had to do was reach my arm back and hold her hand and she would stop crying immediately. We were so pleased with how the road trip went.

We arrived at Mom & Dad Buell's house Saturday evening. Aubrey had no trouble warming right up to them. Brooke did pretty good the first few days as well. The more tired she got through out the week, the clingier she got. But, overall she did pretty good.

Aubrey was wonderful the entire time. She hardly ever fussed or had a fit. She was very clean when she ate. She only wet her pants one time and she drank from a big girl cup the whole time and only had one spill. I was happy good Aubrey came on our trip! (Sometimes she has an alter ego, that is just not so much fun!)

She affectionately nicknamed her grandparents "Grampy & Grammy." She had a blast spending time with them.

Everyone was nice enough to appease Aubrey in many many games of "Ring around the Rosies" and "Hide and Seek."

Aubrey really enjoyed spending time with her "Big Girl" cousins.

Brooke giving Uncle Darin some loves.

Kisses for Michelle. Whenever Michelle was around, Aubrey wanted to be her buddy.

The sleeping arrangements were kind of tricky. It's a two bedroom house, so the four of us shared a room. We brought a travel crib for Brooke, but just had Aubrey on the floor the first night. Aubrey thought Brooke's bed was fun, so Tammy was nice enough to lend us hers for Aubrey for the rest of the trip.

Aubrey and Brooke liked the mesh and how they could see each other and play with each other through it. They would put their hands up and touch hands through it. Aubrey called it a "silly game." She would get in the crib, hold up her hand and then call, "Brookie come over here and play the 'silly game' with me."

Grandma had a fun bag of gifts for both girls when they arrived. Aubrey's was full of crafty things for her to do while we were there. Aubrey was excited to start on her crafts.

When we went to visit Darin at his house, Brooke just snuggled right up to him.

Like I said, the sleeping arrangements were tricky. I couldn't put both girls down for bed or naps at the same time, because neither would sleep and Brooke was in danger of Aubrey trying to pull her out of her crib. So we had lots of late nights trying to get them asleep.

Because I am such a stickler for naps and bedtimes, my girls rarely fall asleep anywhere then their beds. One afternoon while I was preparing lunch, Aubrey just crashed on the chair. She looked so cute!

Another day, Brooke fell fast asleep while sitting up next to me. They sure do look cute when they sleep.
